Vampire Bat Chocolate Cake

Everyone loves chocolate cake; hand here is a nice recipe for a cake that looks like a Halloween bat. It is not hard to do, which begins as a simple Chocolate Victoria sandwich cake, but is smart and cut together to look like a bat.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons cocoa

3 tablespoons boiling water

225g/8oz soft margarine

225g/8oz icing sugar

4 eggs

225g/8oz self-raising flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

For filling andTopping:

Strawberry Jam

50g/2oz soft margarine

175g/6oz icing sugar, sifted

1 tablespoon milk

A bar of dark chocolate

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Grease and line base 20 cm / 2x8in sandwich tins with greased greaseproof paper.

2. Mix the cocoa and water in a bowl and let cool slightly. Measure all other ingredients in bowl and beat until well blended. Divide the mixture between the boxes and level.

3. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until well risen and the top of the cake slightly soft when pressed with a finger. Cool in tin for a few seconds then remove the paper and finish cooling on wire rack.

4. For the butter cream, blend together margarine, sugar and milk until smooth. Possession of one of the pieces of biscuit to sustain the whole. Spread a thin even layer of jam on> Cake base, and add half the icing and spread it over the top of the jam.

5. Take the second piece of sponge and with a large round pastry cutter, cut a circle in the center of the sponge. Now cut two circles, one above and one below the hole in the middle. The two big cake left half forms the wings of a bat, stabbed them above the base of the cake with the scalloped edges form a stabbing outside. (See photo at the link below)

6. Take two of the three circlesthat are removed when making the wings. Stick the two circles with jam and cream and paste them into one form of the triangle between the wings of a bat's head shape. The final circle should be cut in half and stuck with the icing sugar over the head of the bat-shaped ears. The bats have big ears you know.

7. Melt the baking chocolate in the microwave for a few minutes - stirring half way. Melt the baking chocolate in the microwave for a few minutes - stirring halfa way through. Spread the chocolate evenly on the wings of a bat, his head and ears. Enter the Bat a face with some icing and red jelly candy for the eyes spooky.

This cake makes a nice centerpiece big bat in each table. It will look like you spent hours to make slaves, but as you know, it was quickly and easily. Just look at the fly off the sliced cake plate!
